11:05 am	writing babble Because it's been a while. Had wanted to do some Goku birthday fanfic but being so sick put me behind. Poo. On the other hand, Sorrow's Dark Array is thrilling me. Oh, it doesn't have the most readers ever but the ones who are reading and commenting are making me smile. Why? Because it would have been so easy to say 'yay Ed's back, now have him kick Dev (OC) to the curb' Instead they want to see realistic confrontation between the two. That means a lot. To me it means they actually like the OC. Most of us fan writers know that any more OC automatically mean Mary/Larry Sue whether or not it's true and people won't even read. I'm always thrilled to have someone like my OC's. And to have the reviewers call it realistic means a lot to me. And FINALLY the original writing is kicking loose again. Usually I don't get much written in the winter. Part of it I think is Nano burn out and then the holidays. But Splinters of Silver and Cold Iron has been working well the last several weeks which is great since I'm almost out of new stuff to give my writer's group. I also got a bit more done on Until the Ice Breaks. I was shocked to have one of my temporarily abandoned novels, Burning Darkness, suddenly kick me in the brain so I looked it up last night. Frankly I thought it was more coherent than this but apparently I hallucinated that. It's all tiny fragments written for nanomowhinging and libraryofwinds and their prompts. Well, it's too rough to be useful but heck it's a first draft so that's expected. Though I think putting it together in coherent form will have to wait until after finals. Heck I'm even writing the next chapter of Hyperion's Son and I actually LIKE it. Current Mood: good (Comment on this)

Author’s Note #1– This was written after much prodding by evil_little_dog as a sequel to the source of sorrow and is now her holiday gift even if she has beta’ed part of it. You’ll quickly pick up that Riza has retired from the military to be Roy’s wife and bodyguard. Olivia Armstrong is now president and she’s assigned Roy as the ambassador to Ishbal; oh and that Roy was severely injured in the destruction of the Gate, requiring some of Winry’s automail. This was meant to be a short little hurt/comfort fic but in the middle of the night Roy whispers more of the plot to me. I think ‘isn’t this from TV a long time ago?’ He shrugs and steps back to let Kimbley chime in with more ideas and it degenerated from there. So this is also a homage fic with several shout outs. Author’s Note – this was written for the picfor1000 community which is a lovely challenge where the mod gives you a picture and you have to do exactly 1000 words on it, no more, no less. 5:30 pm	Yay me Anyone remember Nothing But Red, the group that we were linking to several months back (along with the rant from Joss Whedon) that was putting together an anthology of stories about violence against women in response to the stoning 'honor killing' death of Dua Khalil? Well the eventual sales of the anthology will be going to charities to stop violence against women and my story has been selected to be in the anthology! Okay, it comes with a caveat that things may change and/or be cut but right now, I'm in and that is so cool. It's been a long time since I've published anything! (Comment on this)

10:34 pm	made it back I am so glad I decided not to come back yesterday. I mean other than the constantly running nose and tiredness I didn't feel that bad yesterday but after three WTF moves in my car today when I feel considerably better driving yesterday would have been disasterous. I unpacked only half the car. Roy and Azmaria helped. Roy got into the house faster than me and checked for intruders before i went inside. Just ask him. Rogue (mom and dad's monster cat) is looking all over the house for me. Listened to my voice mail messages (this old system can't be retrieved remotely after it got hit by lightening about 8 years ago) got my yearly harrassing student loan call and calls from BOTH labs saying they messed up my lab exams...so now I don't know if the doctor didn't call me because it was normal and that tumor is nothing to worry about (and unfortunately NOT the cause of my weight problems) or because they screwed up. The drive home was rather productive. I got several stories completely written in my head. I was glad. Lately the drives have been dry which makes me sad. I got stuck in traffic (big wreck in Marietta) right in front of Marietta College which I found last night wants an anatomy teacher for the Physician's Assistant program which allows me to cut up cadavers. I sat in front of that school fifteen minutes today telling it how much it NEEDED me. Wish me luck. (Comment on this)
